Our Mission

ExposingHate.org exists to document and bring public attention to instances of hate speech, bigotry, and discrimination. We believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant, and that exposing hateful rhetoric helps communities understand and combat prejudice.

What We Accept

Submissions should document content that includes:

  • Hate speech - Content that attacks, demeans, or incites violence against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
  • Discrimination - Content promoting exclusion or unequal treatment based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
  • Bigotry - Expressions of intolerance, prejudice, or hostility toward specific groups
  • Extremist content - Promotion of supremacist ideologies or calls for harm against communities
  • Harassment campaigns - Coordinated attacks targeting individuals based on their identity

What We Do NOT Accept

The following types of submissions will be removed by moderators:

  • Personal disputes - Arguments, breakups, or personal conflicts that don't involve hate speech
  • Political disagreement - Mere political opinions, even unpopular ones, that don't constitute hate speech
  • Satire or parody - Content that is clearly satirical in nature (though hateful "jokes" may still qualify)
  • Out-of-context content - Submissions that misrepresent the original meaning through selective editing or lack of context
  • Doxxing or private information - Content that exposes private personal information
  • Harassment submissions - Using our platform to harass individuals rather than document genuine hate
  • False or fabricated content - Manipulated or fake posts
  • Content involving minors - We do not feature content posted by or primarily about minors

Private Facts Policy

In compliance with Texas law (Texas Penal Code §42.074) and general privacy principles, users may NOT include in their descriptions any private information that was not already publicly available in the original post. This includes:

  • Home addresses or residential information
  • Private phone numbers
  • Workplace information (for harassment purposes)
  • Information about family members
  • Any other private details not in the original post

Submissions containing private information will be removed and may result in account termination.

Fact vs. Opinion in Descriptions

When writing context for submissions, you must distinguish between facts and opinions. Making false statements of fact about individuals can constitute defamation/libel.

Problematic language (potential libel):

  • "This person is a criminal."
  • "This user has been convicted of hate crimes."
  • "This is a known white supremacist leader."

Safer opinion language:

  • "In my opinion, this statement promotes hate."
  • "I believe this content targets [group] with hateful rhetoric."
  • "This post appears to express bigoted views about [group]."

Let the embedded content speak for itself. Your role is to provide context and opinion, not to make unverified factual claims about individuals.

Submission Guidelines

When submitting content, please:

  • Provide accurate, objective context about why the content is hateful
  • Identify the platform and, if known, the poster
  • Explain which groups are being targeted
  • Do not editorialize excessively - let the content speak for itself
  • Submit only publicly posted content

Moderation Process

Submissions are published immediately and reviewed by our moderation team on an ongoing basis. Moderators may remove content that violates our policies. When reviewing submissions, we evaluate:

  • Whether the content genuinely constitutes hate speech
  • Whether the context provided is accurate and fair
  • Whether the submission serves the public interest
  • Whether it complies with our content policies

Moderation decisions are final. We do not provide detailed explanations for removals.

User Conduct

Users of ExposingHate.org agree to:

  • Submit content in good faith
  • Not use the platform for personal vendettas or harassment
  • Not create multiple accounts to circumvent moderation
  • Not submit false, misleading, or fabricated content
  • Respect the purpose of the platform

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

Removal Requests

If you are the subject of a post and believe it was included in error or does not meet our content policy, you may request review by contacting us. We will consider:

  • Whether the content actually constitutes hate speech
  • Whether context was misrepresented
  • Whether the post was satirical or taken out of context

Note: Simply disagreeing with being featured or claiming the content was "just a joke" is generally not grounds for removal if the content meets our hate speech criteria.

Embedded Content

All content on ExposingHate.org is embedded from original platforms, not hosted by us. This means:

  • If the original poster deletes their content, it will disappear from our site
  • We do not store copies of the hateful content
  • The original platform's terms of service apply to the content
